Webflow Development

Webflow developer in Northern Virginia — custom Webflow builds, WordPress to Webflow migrations, and CMS setup for small businesses and professional firms.

What I Do with Webflow

Webflow is the platform I reach for when a client needs a site that looks great, loads fast, and stays easy to update without a developer on call. I've built and migrated a range of sites on Webflow — from architecture firm portfolios to managed IT services companies serving the Northern Virginia and DC metro markets.

Most Webflow projects fall into one of three categories:

New Webflow builds — designing and developing a site from scratch (or from a Figma file) directly in Webflow. Includes CMS structure, animations, responsive design, and client training so you can update content independently.

WordPress to Webflow migrations — moving an existing WordPress site over to Webflow. This is more common than it sounds. WordPress powers a lot of sites that have outgrown it: security patches, plugin conflicts, slow load times, and editors who hate Gutenberg. Webflow solves all of these. I migrated Devereaux Architecture from WordPress to Webflow and rebuilt their portfolio showcase in the process.

Webflow enhancements — adding CMS collections, logic, integrations, or redesigning sections of an existing Webflow site that's gotten stale.

Who This Is For

  • Small business owners who need a professional web presence they can maintain without calling a developer every time they add a team member or update a service
  • Professional firms (architecture, consulting, law, healthcare) that need a polished, fast-loading portfolio or informational site
  • Organizations moving off WordPress that are tired of plugin maintenance, slow load times, and security headaches
  • Startups that need a marketing site built fast and want the flexibility to iterate without rebuilding

Why Webflow (and When It's Not the Answer)

Webflow is not the right tool for every project. Here's my honest take:

Webflow is the right choice when:

  • Your site is primarily marketing/informational (not a web app or e-commerce platform)
  • You want editors to be able to update content without touching code
  • You need a visually sophisticated site without the complexity of custom development
  • You're on WordPress and the maintenance burden has become a problem

Webflow is not the right choice when:

  • You need complex server-side logic or a database-driven application (that's a Next.js project)
  • You have a large e-commerce operation with complex inventory management
  • Your team is deeply invested in a headless CMS ecosystem

I'll tell you which one you need before we start.
